Definition: Demographics – statistical data relating to the population and particular groups within it

Definition: Birth Rate – The ratio of total live births to total population in an area over a specified period of time. If the rate is over 2.1, then the population is growing.

Definition: Death Rate – The ratio of the number of deaths to the total population. If the rate is higher than the growth rate, then the population is shrinking.
